HOUSTON, TX –The 2023 Sam Houston Quarter Horse racing season concluded on Saturday, June 17 with an exciting ten-race card, including four stakes and the presentation of the end-of-the-meet awards for leading jockey, trainer, and owner.

HOUSTON, TX –Sam Houston Race Park closed out its 2023 live racing season on Saturday, June 17 with quality performances in the final four stakes of the meet and honored trainer Jesse Yoakum, who was a longtime supporter of Texas racing and Willie Hickman, who played many pivotal roles in the Sam Houston racing office.

HOUSTON, TX –Sam Houston Race Park hosted two regional qualifying races for the 2023 Bank of America Racing Challenge on Friday, June 16. Stormguard was a convincing winner in the $125,945 John Deere Juvenile Challenge (G3) and Dash for the Flash was equally impressive in the $73,304 Adequan Derby Challenge.

Presentation of the End of the Meet Trophies Will be Made to the Leading Owner, Trainer and Jockey
HOUSTON, TX –Sam Houston Race Park will close out its 2023 live racing season on Saturday, June 17with ten Quarter Horse races, beginning at 6:25 pm (CT). The $50,000 Sam Houston 250 Stakes and $50,000 Sam Houston 550 Stakes both drew full fields. In addition, the program will include memorial stakes honoring trainer Jesse Yoakum, who was a longtime supporter of Texas racing, and Willie Hickman, who played many pivotal roles in the Sam Houston racing office.

HOUSTON, TX –Sam Houston Race Park welcomed fans for live Quarter Horse racing and the simulcast of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 10. Two stakes for Paints and Appaloosas were contested on the card with Op Lil Becca scoring her first stakes victory in the $64,480 Colors Of Houston Futurity (G2) and Just Wishn taking the $34,250 Colors Of Texas Paint Maturity (G2)
