Sam Houston Race Park’s 2025 Thoroughbred Meet begins on Friday, January 3rd; we will be offering many great, seasonal, and part-time positions. Ideal candidates are students, retirees, teachers, or anyone looking for a fun way to earn extra income. Requirements are simple: you must be friendly, outgoing and have a smile! Our 4-8 hr shifts, and flexible evening and weekend schedules make us the best part-time employment opportunity in NW Houston.
We will kick off our hiring campaign to fill more than 100 positions with a recurring series of hiring events. On-site interviews for all positions will be conducted at the hiring event. Because employment offers may be made on the spot, candidates are asked to bring two forms of identification to these events. Among the staffing needs for the 2025 meet, which runs from January – June are positions in Admissions, Food Service, Housekeeping, Mutuels, Parking, Security, Racing, Track Maintenance, and other areas.
Hiring event dates and times:
- Thursday, October 24 – 4 pm to 6 pm (Customer Service Rep)
- Thursday, November 7 – 3 pm to 7 pm (Security Only)
- Saturday, November 16 – 10 am to 1 pm
- Saturday, December 7 – 10 am to 1 pm
Screening/interviews will be conducted in the South Grandstand inside the Drop-Off/Rideshare entrance; follow the signs.
