The afternoon also featured two Texas Champions Day stakes and the running of the $50,000 Houston Distaff. Longshots ruled those three events with exciting finishes delivering by the winners.

Jockey Lindey Wade Won Two Stakes on the Card
HOUSTON, TX - Sam Houston Race Park saluted accredited Texas-breds Saturday night with four Texas Champions stakes. Heavy rain earlier in the day forced the two turf stakes onto the main track, but a good crowd was on hand to see a quartet of talented runners put on a very entertaining show in the $50,000 Richard King takes, the $50,000 Yellow Rose, $50,000 Spirit of Texas Stakes and $50,000 San Jacinto Stakes.
